Top 5: Scariest Faces in Movies

OUCH!!! I [KP] fell off my bike while riding to see No Hands: The Wild Ride of the Schwinn Bicycle Company – the last film I caught at the Chicago International Film Festival. And that’s why this week’s episode is late.
The irony in the bike documentary being my downfall is not lost on me – and yes… yes it is funny that it was this film.
And the good news is – who needs functional ribs? I don’t!! I’m sitting with my best friend Ry the Movie Guy and our long-time guest and always-welcome critic: The Blonde in Front, Cati Glidewell. And if that wasn’t enough, all three of us caught two pretty exciting movies! One of them is the new DC Cinematic Universe flick, Clayface. A standalone origin story about… a villain? And crazier yet, a BATMAN villain?? Is it good? Do we find out who the DCCU’s Batman is? And how does it fare in a Doomsday year for the MCU? All that and more!
Plus, I wasn’t joking – we have another review this week too. And boy HOWDY. This is a big Big BIG one. The talk of the town. I’m sure you already saw it by now. This is massive; we’re also talking about You Can See Everything, the Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim documentary following Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos. I’m not even kidding when I say this is the most “I just have to talk about this” movie of the year and I think the headlines, tweets, tik toks, etc. speak to how much we all need to just talk about it and process it.
Not to mention, we also cover our top 5 Scariest Faces in Movies too. I’m going backwards a little bit now, because Clayface is about a man with a scary and goopy visage. And sometime times the movies show us scary and goopy visages. What’s up with that? We love them when we see them, but it is weird right? And we figured, what better time than Clayface to talk about some creepy, spooky faces. Not masks too. These are just faces. Can’t take them off later.
This is a fun one. I had a lot of fun recording it. I had a lot of fun watching all the movies for it. And I genuinely might have broken or at least bruised a rib or two in the making of this episode. And I don’t care who you are nor where you come from – that’s pretty cool.
I love you all,
-KP
