Film has the ability to reflect our lives and social issues back at us and even be a catalyst for change. Documentary\u00a0film is especially suited for this task. Instead of being constrained by narrative fiction, the best docs show us the world as it is, warts and all, and force us to consider truths and “rally the troops” around a cause. These are still storytellers telling stories, with beginning-middle-end structure, character arcs, comedy, and tragedy. They just happen to also be real.
