Amy Winehouse’s rise to fame and ultimately her destruction was out in front of the public eye perhaps more so than any other celebrity of the past 25 years. This documentary gives us a behind the scenes look at her life. It is raw, honest, heartbreaking, and powerful. Amy gave me insight to an artist, showed me the ugly side of show business and made me sad that society would rather make money off someone’s struggles rather than help. This was a wonderful, but painful documentary.
