Writers, those tortured souls, have managed to work themselves into their stories since pen first hit paper. The Movies are no different. It’s all quite meta, and it happens in every genre: Comedy, Action, Horror, etc. These are the movies about writers and this week on CinemaJaw we pick our top 5!
Joining us on this literary quest is none other than RedEye Columnist and writer extraordinaire, Mr. Stephen Markley! Stephen helps us choose our top 5 and even drops the science on his latest project in what is another CINEMAJAW EXCLUSIVE!

Happy Birthday Matt K!
Birthdays, we all have ‘em. Once a year we turn the page and count one extra candle. For most it is a day of happy celebration, for some it is a day to be loathed. Here on CinemaJaw we love birthdays, and we decided to celebrate our very own Matt K’s special day with an episode dedicated to Birthday Movies. So, happy birthday Matt, as a gift you get one of the toughest lists we have ever had to come up with on CinemaJaw! Let it be known that this may be (at the time of this post) a CinemaJaw Exclusive, because in our research we found NO other Birthday Movie top lists. Leave it to us to break new ground.
It also must be noted officially in our post that we recorded this episode just an hour or so after the news about Steve Jobs passing broke. It weighed heavily on us as we recorded, especially given the topic, and light hearted nature of CinemaJaw. However, we believe that while Steve may not have given us podcasting, he certainly perfected and popularized it. What better way to honor him than by continuing to produce great content for the great platform that he created? This episode of CinemaJaw is dedicated to Steve Jobs.

Good evening…
Thrillers, chillers, call them what you will, these films all have one common thread, a heaping helping of sweaty palmed suspense! So this week on CinemaJaw Ry the Movie Guy, Matt K and a very special guest pick their Top 5 Suspense films. So who is the guest…(as if the post title doesn’t give it away)?

The boys are joined by film buff and rock musician Scott Lucas of Local H! Graciously taking time out of his recording schedule, Scott drops the science on CinemaJaw and (although Matt will blame it on lack of sleep) absolutely schools Matt in trivia! Also in attendance are the usual suspects of Hollywood Headlines, Inerested or Ignore, a few Reviews, and much more. Also, in what may be a CinemaJaw Exclusive, Scott reveals the working title of Local H’s 7th studio album, and it’s title is inspired by a movie!! Like a great suspense plot, it all comes together in the end. A great episode!
